What a full cycle means

A full cycle means the work does not end when the product is put down. It covers inspecting the site, identifying the rodent species and the routes they travel, judging the scale of the problem, choosing the method, setting out bait stations or mechanical traps, returning for a follow-up check, and advising on sealing entry points. That last step decides whether the problem comes back in a few weeks or not.

How long the whole process takes

In a flat the first visit usually takes from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the number of rooms. Mice respond quickly, often on the first night; rats need three to seven days because of neophobia. The follow-up check happens about a week after the first visit. On commercial sites with a system of control points the process is continuous, with scheduled inspections.

The difference between a one-off treatment and ongoing servicing

A one-off treatment is a full cycle at a single site: inspection, placement, identifying the cause and a follow-up check. It suits flats and private houses where the problem has only just been noticed and the entry points can be sealed. Ongoing servicing is a different approach — it is meant for sites where the pressure from outside never stops: warehouses, production facilities, restaurants and the basements of apartment blocks. There the aim is not a one-off result but keeping the population low through periodic checks and monitoring of the control points.

How to choose the right service

Start with the type of site and how long the problem has been going on. If droppings have been noticed in a flat for the first time, a one-off treatment and sealing the gaps is enough. If activity returns after every treatment, the source is usually outside your own rooms — in an apartment block it is almost always the basement or the shared services. On a commercial site with goods moving through and a constant food source, a one-off treatment only has a short-lived effect.
