Read →Why the type of site changes the method
Rodent behaviour is the same everywhere, but the environments they live in differ a great deal. In a flat you do not control the whole building, so the source is often in the basement or in a neighbour's rooms. In a private house you control the whole property, but the perimeter is long and the pressure comes from the garden. In a warehouse the problem arrives with the goods and the pallets. In a restaurant the decisive areas are the waste store and the backs of the kitchen appliances. So the inspection route, the layout of the stations and the frequency of checks all differ from one type of site to the next.
Home or commercial site — the main difference
In a home the aim is to end the problem completely: treat, seal the entry points and check the result. On a commercial site, where goods come in every day and doors stand open, complete exclusion is not possible. There a system of control points works — numbered stations and regular checks that show which side the pressure is coming from. The paperwork differs too: for commercial sites we prepare a written record of the work carried out along with the layout of the control points.
If your site is not on the list
The types of site listed here cover the most common situations, but rodents do not sort buildings by name. We have also worked in sports halls, garages, hairdressers, beauty salons, animal shelters and plant rooms. The principle stays the same: inspection, identifying the routes they travel, a suitable method and dealing with the cause. Describe the site in the form and we will tell you how to tackle it.
